{Thursday Thoughts | Set focus}

Part of managing a business is managing your personal life too. And even prioritizing it ABOVE your work.
The hits come hard when someone critiques your work. Even harder when its your life. And at some point, you will face both.

Work and life are such personal things - and subjective to a trillion opinions... most of which come from those who are NOT producing the work or living your life.

You must set them aside.
They are the sideline agitators of your path, and they are only a deterrent if you allow them to be.

Life is gonna throw some stones at you. Many undeserving. Pick them up. Don't carry them around with you, but rather.. build something with them. What was intended to knock you down can be used to elevate you. It can be used to make a bridge. It just depends on what you do with what you are given. This applies to everything in life, good and bad. There is no fuel for motivation like being determined to succeed not only for yourself - to say you DID IT - but to show un-welcomed opinions their way to the door. Equally great, to hand the stone back that came in with opinion on its way out and say ... For making me that much more passionate about what I do and pushing me harder to succeed? ... Thank you.

Stay on your course. Select your focus. Aim for it. If your gaze is locked onto your goals and set on your dream - the rest falls into peripheral vision and white noise. Keep with you only that good which helps you sustain your journey. The rest is debris that will weigh you down if you carry it with you. Either let it go or build from it.

Want to share this excerpt from Charlie Chaplin's quote:
"As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for my health - food, people, things, situations, and everything that drew me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude a healthy egoism. Today I know it as "LOVE OF ONESELF".

As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worrying about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where everything is happening. Today I live each day, day by day and I call it "FULFILLMENT".

Love yourself more and opinions less.
Set your focus. Set aside peripheral vision.
Build or walk free but...

Press on beloved. You are as great as you want to be.
