Alex + Allie's Wedding // Wedding Giveaway Winners // St. Augustine, FL

May 09, 2019  •  Leave a Comment

A dolphin wedding in Florida? That's right. That's who won the giveaway that Leah Trib Productions and I gave away - containing an over $7K wedding photography/videography package together! We picked Allie and Alex because of a few reasons, but most notably what stood out about them is that they had similar names, Alexandra + Alex AND they were both studying to be doctors! Alex is M.D. and Allie is an M.D., M.P.H. They are both emergency medicine resident physicians. Talk about hard work being put in! And not only did they finish schooling and plan a wedding... the wedding ALSO fell on Allie's BIRTHDAY! (Alex should have NO problem remembering those dates! Haha)

How did this giveaway work though? Well... to be exact, once we selected our winners and they agreed to get us to the wedding in FL (they are OH residents) and we had our contract in place, we were BOOKED! We did not charge them for our time, or the images/video. They got a complimentary E-session in Ohio AND a full 8 hour wedding day package at no charge. They simply had to cover our expenses to get there and a place to stay. (Allie + Alex got Leah and I the cutest BNB and flew us in early enough to check out the magnificent city of St. Augustine! (she's also my favorite bride now because she MADE SURE TO MAKE ME GO EAT A PIECE OF CAKE RIGHT WHEN SHE TOLD ME TO, hahaha) Y'all I LOOOOOOOVE my clients that know I love cake. But even more so, cake by the ocean! <3

So many incredible moments! I loved their vows and found myself crying when they were being read. I love that Alex made mention of their sweet doggie that had passed away. I know that these two love their dogs as much as I love mine. That makes them MY kind of people you guys. BIG HEARTS! My personal favorites were the dolphins jumping AS they kissed at their ceremony. The dolphins in general are seriously one of the most entertaining things I've seen at a wedding. They're actually camera hams incase you were wondering. They kinda POSE for you! The staff at Marineland Dolphin Adventure were AMAZING to work with. AS a HUGE animal lover... I love their mission! I also loved shooting in an amazing park full of Spanish moss hanging from big old southern sprawling trees. So many beautiful areas to work with you guys in FL! Here's what took me by surprise though, the groom Alex? HE IS A DANCE MACHINE YOU GUYS. In my 11+ years of shooting weddings, I have NEVER seen anyone have SO MUCH ENERGY or MOVES on the dancefloor!!! I think at one point Leah and I looked at each other like... whaaaa? Hahaha. He even danced SO HARD that he split his pants... but he kept on going and before we knew it - it became a trend because two groomsmen had purposely split theirs as well. Super amazing reception! Amazing couple. They are truly meant to be together. I am so honored and thankful our paths crossed and SO GLAD THEY WON!

Leah and I will definitely do another giveaway in the future for an international wedding as we travel so well together! Pretty much we both love beer and food and have been in this industry long enough to know the ins and outs. Thankful to have combined a giveaway with her amazing talent!

Congrats Mr. + Mrs. Lu... thank you for allowing us, and trusting us to document your day.

Favorite Parts of the Day:

One was seeing everything come together, I DIYed so much of the wedding, literally poured my heart and soul into the day and it came together so much better than I ever could have dreamed of. Everyone always says something will go wrong the day of the wedding— but I truly can’t think of anything. It was all perfect.

The second was hearing Alex’s vows. I really don’t have too many words for them because nothing I say will do them justice. Biases aside, I fully believe his vows were the best ever written. And, more importantly, I know he will follow through with everything he promised me in our marriage.

And Alex’s favorite part of the wedding: “the ceremony, specifically being given a ring and being pronounced husband and wife bc that was the whole point of the day” lol :)
